Kimberly A. “Kim” Schmitz, 49, of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her family, Dec. 18, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with the Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

Gerald A. “Jerry” Lahmers, 91, of Melrose, died peacefully surrounded by his family Dec. 17, 2023, at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River.  A Celebration of Life gathering (no formal program) will be from 3-4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Melrose American Legion. Please come visit with the family and join them for dinner at 4 p.m. A private inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Melrose with military honors by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Mass of Christian burial a Celebration of Life for Albert Schleppenbach, 82, of Albany, was held Dec. 21, 2023, at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. A private burial was held at the parish cemetery. Military honors were by American Legion Post 482 in Albany.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Julian “Butch” Kortenbusch, 75, of St. Cloud, who passed away Dec. 20, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. The Rev. Derek Wiechmann will officiate and entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. 

Dorothy H. Hollenkamp, 91, of Freeport, passed away peacefully Dec. 23, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with the Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B., officiating. Entombment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and 10-10:45 a.m., Dec. 28, at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m., Dec. 27, at the funeral home.

Beverly “Bev” Auer, 76,  passed away Nov. 28, 2023, in Texarkana, Texas.  She was born June 4, 1947, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Edwin and Alvera Perne. Bev graduated from Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, in 1964, and later moved to central Minnesota with her family.

Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 18, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Patricia C. Koenig, who passed away Dec. 11 at her home in Sartell. The Rev. Ronald Weyrens and the Rev. Timothy Baltes officiated with burial at the parish cemetery. 

Robert Schmitt was born April 19, 1931, to Leo and Margaret (Doubek) Schmitt in Luxemburg, Minnesota, one of 14 children.  He passed away Dec. 6, 2023, at Assumption Community in Cold Spring.
