NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Holdingford, Minnesota, will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 9th, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., at the Holdingford City Hall in the City of Holdingford, Minnesota, relating to an Economic Development Tax Abatement Resolution, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.1812 to 469.1815 inclusive, as amended, to finance up to $218,000 in assistance to Berkon Outdoors with the expansion of their existing manufacturing facility. The City intends to provide annual abatement payments, the total of which will not exceed $218,000 collected over a period of not more than fifteen (15) years, commencing with taxes payable 2023. Holdingford School Board Briefs
The Holdingford School Board held their regular meeting on April 20, 2022. Members present Evelyn Martini, Sarah Binek, Ed Feia, Lori Opatz, Rob Knettel and Pat Meier. Also attending was: Superintendent Chris Swenson, Secondary Principal Angela Safran, Business manager Garrity Gerber, Student Representative Morgan Pallett, Adm. Assistant Linda Zapzalka, and Mike Kosik from Star Publications. Elementary Principal Jim Stang arrived at 6:30 PM.
Chair Feia called the meeting to order, the pledge was recited, and the amended agenda was approved.
The meeting continued with approval of the consent agenda. Items in the consent agenda included: approval of the minutes from 3/16/2022 School Board Meeting and 4/6/22 Work Session; approval of the schedule of bills in the amount of $416,803.76--Computer checks approved #51888 through #52043 and $9,976.05 for checks #30293 through #30324; approval of the electronic transfer for March 2022, $2,073,985.24; acknowledgement of the Treasurer’s Report balance per books is $9,190,129.36; approval of lane change for Carin Pedersen from BS10 to MS; approval of Policy 507 Corporal Punishment; annual review of Policy 806 Crisis Management Policy; and approval of 8th Grade Baseball Coach Dustin Waddell.
Chair Feia welcomed fellow board members, administration, staff and guests.
Superintendent Swenson updated the Board on final parking lot plans, sidewalk replacements out of doors 14 & 15, custodial interviews, and boiler licensure requirements.
Student Representative Morgan Pellett reported on spring sports, spring fling, mock crash, and she informed the Board the spring play performances took place and were a success.
Principal Safran reported the ACT test is complete with 92% of the class taking the test and the MCA testing will start soon. She informed the Board due to a few circumstances Ms. Carlson recreated the master schedule for FY23 amazingly in one day and students are in the process of rescheduling. Ms Safran also reported spring is busy with planning for Prom, Spring Fling & Graduation.
Mr. Swenson reported Kindergarten registration was done online with 71 students currently registered and Mr. Stang is working to reach out to approximately 15 more families.
Swenson reported BSED is looking to add staffing and Holdingford will have service for an additional day next year. New BSED ROCORI facility.
Business Manager Gerber reported MARRS reporting due date is approaching, he is working on the revised FY22 budget and the budget for FY23 along with state and federal reports. Lastly he informed the Board that utility costs are over budget due to cost increases.

• Approved changing the May work session to May 11, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the HS meeting room.

• Adopted the Resolution Nonrenewing Lisa Falk a Probationary Teacher in ISD #738.
• Approved the 2022-2023 work agreement with Business Office Assistant Nikki Fiedler.
• Accepted the resignation from Ron Makela for his Language Arts Teaching position and Head Boys Basketball Coaching position. Ms. Safran thanked Mr. Makala for being a phenomenal Language Arts Teacher for the District!
• Accepted the resignation from Jennifer Clear for the Head Swim Coaching position.
• Accepted the resignation from Ashia Volkers for the Head Volleyball Coaching position.
The Board and Administration thanked the coaches for their coaching services with the District and a discussion ensued on the concern of losing Head Coaches.
• Accepted the resignation from Gregory Muellner. The Board and Administration thanked Mr. Muellner for his time with the District. He will stay on as Boiler Operator until Boilers are shut down this spring.
• Approved FMLA Leave for Gena Larson.
• Approved Child Care Leave for Marian Lyndgaard.
Accepted the resignation from Mackenzie Oberg from the Elementary Paraprofessional position.
• Hired Emily Simon for the Elementary School Counselor position.
• Hired Melyssa Sakry for the Elementary LTS SPED position for the fall of 2022.
• Hired Genelle Jackson for the Sign Language Interpreter position for the 2022-2023 school year.
• Accepted the resignation from Derrick Roush Secondary SPED Teacher effective at the end of the current school year. Ms. Safran thanked Mr. Roush for his time with the District and contributions in the SPED Department.

BID DATE AND LOCATION:

START DATE:
Work will begin after receipt of the signed contract from the Owner. The anticipated award date is 5/18/22. Pre-construction and submittals work related to the project is to commence immediately after receipt of the signed contract. The onsite work will begin on the premises no later than 6/6/22.
SUBSTANTIAL AND COMPLETION DATE:
