Spring Hill grotto anniversary evening

People gathered on the east lawn of the Church of St. Michael in Spring Hill early evening Aug. 15, crickets chirping in the background. With a slight breeze and cooling temperatures, it was a perfect night for an outdoor Mass in this peaceful setting with the cemetery in the background.

Terry Torrence’s nickname is “Ter-Bear.” He used that bear twist when naming his business – Bear Crest Lounge-Family Restaurant in Albany – complete with a bear on his logo.

Ritter relishes 45-year bus driving ride

Eileen Ritter rode the bus to school when she attended Albany Area Schools, graduating in 1963. Fourteen years later, she started driving bus for the Albany School District, retiring in December 2022, after 45 years.

North Park vision becomes a reality

People attending the Tuesday, Aug. 1, National Night Out at North Park in Albany will be able to walk along a nature trail, which includes a floating walking path; view the lake from an observation pier; play or watch pickleball or tennis and utilize a dog park.
