During a Nov. 16 recap of the annual World’s Best Workforce report, Holdingford administrators said the district met several 2022-23 school year goals but came up short in other categories.

Albany hearing focuses on street project

Albany’s proposed budget and levy for 2024 still includes a large dollar figure for street milling and overlay. Council members contemplated a proposed levy of 16.83%, a $222,277 increase over the 2023 levy, during a Dec. 6 truth-in-taxation hearing at Albany City Hall in Albany.

Advanced life support ready

The Sauk Centre Ambulance Service went live as an advanced life support service Nov. 17, which means they can transfer ALS patients with one of their three paramedics on the ambulance and a paramedic can provide on-scene medical care. The Melrose Ambulance Service will start Jan. 1, 2024, with two registered nurses and one paramedic currently on their roster, with an anticipated second paramedic in the near future.

Book bins project 

 The Melrose branch of the Great River Regional Library has close to 1,617 picture books. Now they have four new book bins to display them and for children to sift through.

Avon woman dies after 2-vehicle crash COLLEGEVILLE TOWNSHIP — An Avon woman died following a vehicle crash Nov. 29 about two miles southwest of Avon in Collegeville Township.  

To qualify for the A honor roll, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.667 or above. To qualify for the B honor roll, students must achieve a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.666. The following students have achieved their respective distinctions:
